NEWS. . . BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Trent Alexander-Arnold has shown that he is only a few weeks away from returning to Liverpool.
The 25-year-old has missed Liverpool’s last 10 games due to a knee he suffered in the 3-1 win over Burnley on Feb. 10.
Conor Bradley has replaced Alexander-Arnold, but the England foreigner believes he is “a few weeks” away from returning to Jurgen Klopp’s side.
“Now everything is going well, despite everything that happened in the final and I’m excited to get back there,” Alexander-Arnold told Sky Sports ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Brighton on Sunday.
“It’s hard to watch and not be a part of it, it’s one of the longest of my career so far, it makes you need to come back and play.
“I think a few weeks, if everything goes well and there are no setbacks.
“I was given the obligation to keep racing hard, I’m not going to pass to get back into the team, it’s not what I expect, but it’s exciting. I need to get over there, the guys and be in a name race. “.
Alexander-Arnold also insists that Klopp’s departure at the end of the season has given Liverpool’s players more motivation in the race for the Premier League name.
“[It was] just a blast for all of us as players,” Alexander-Arnold said.
“He was the one who rocked the locker room for a couple of hours. But he told us we’re professionals, let’s let that get us down.
“It’s given us more motivation. That’s motivating. I think we can use it to our advantage. “
“We need to help him put on a big parade, we need a big goodbye for him. “
