The Clemson Tigers No. 1 beat and strangled the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 73-7 on Saturday at Atlanta’s Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Clemson’s junior quarterback Trevor Lawrence also demonstrated why he is one of the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy and the favorite to spend first in the 2021 NFL Draft, when he pitched five touchdowns in the hard-hitting win.
Clemson ruled in virtually every aspect, as he had more first attempts (29-7) and more yards overall (671-204) and forced 3 ball losses.
The Tigers took a step forward to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the ACC game, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 2-3 overall and 2-2 at the conference.

Lawrence reinforces Heisman’s case in dominant projection
Saturday’s contest was noted as a possible statistics booster game for Lawrence, and there’s no doubt he’s made his numbers and his bid for the Heisman Trophy a wonderful service.
In the first half alone, Lawrence caught 20 of 25 for 391 yards and five touchdowns, which helped Clemson take a 52-7 lead on the break.
