Chris Wilder at Sheffield United loses and trusts

But having played for Leeds United and Sheffield United in his training years, Billy Sharp has no challenge in recognizing his respect for the Elland Road club or Liam Cooper, his rival captain, friend, former teammate and golf opponent.
Two Yorkshire men who have represented their clubs in League One, as well as in the Premier League, are well positioned for their players to respect the importance of a Bramall Lane pass, unfortunately diluted tomorrow by empty stands.
At the club’s last meeting, in 2018-19, Yorkshire’s bragging right was encouraged in an already exciting three-horse car promotion race, with Leeds falling right by the road. Now Sharp expects the extra spice to start the race. Blades’ season, which began with back-to-back Premier League defeats interspersing a League Cup outing on penalties.
“My son has some Leeds enthusiasts in his class, there are Leeds enthusiasts who live in Sheffield and vice versa,” he says. “It’s two big cities and two big football clubs that are going to fight and it hasn’t happened in the Premier League for 26 years. We hope it will be an opportunity and that we can start our season.
Sharp likes to take on Leeds in the league.
“It’s a smart component of the race,” he recalls. Many things are happening in Sheffield and Leeds to find out who would be promoted. It would have been great if we were upstairs at the same time, but not to be a fair game with Norwich, they did enough to win the league and we just had to make sure we kept Leeds away.
“Or we’re in the Premier League now and it’s wonderful to see them here. “
Sharp’s biggest compliment to Leeds is that a third pass to Bramall Lane could pull him out after a hectic 2014-15.
“I liked it even though I had four coaches in one season,” he says. “It’s a wonderful club, I was looking ahead. Some of the things that happened when I was there were not what I expected – we didn’t have lunch, no equipment to start with.
“I scored on my debut, that’s great, and Liam Cooper signed the same day.
“If Sheffield United hadn’t come looking for me, I would have stayed the season because it’s a wonderful club and they deserve to go back to the Premier League. “
Even before the Blades added the extra striker they were looking for, Sharp struggles to get started on Bramall Lane. The arrival of Diego Llorente means that Leeds has spent a lot on two foreign central defenses this summer (Robin Koch is the other). However, that says a lot about what coach Marcelo Bielsa thinks of Cooper, who will lead the team for his 200th participation with the club.
“It’s an integral component of this club,” Bielsa said. ” Institutions are bigger when they have those who behave flawlessly. “
The arrival of Crying of the Royal Society this week is a sign of a change in tactical thinking.
“It’s not like we plan to play with 3 sides anymore,” he insists. “It’s also not to build the festival because Pascal (Strujik) played a very important match against Liverpool.
“Koch is the only right central defense we’ve ever had and if he’d been injured, we’ve recruited a very young team or moved to (Luke) Ayling or (Kalvin) Phillips. I think we had to have two players for this job.
“If he (Crying) needed to play, he could do it. He had to play Real Madrid just before he accepted his move.
Today, rival captains are smart friends and will return full-time until the next game: football or golf.
“I’ll shake his hand before and after the game, but once we cross that white line, we’re going to try to get out of the potholes, which he understands and respects,” Sharp said.
“He’s the captain of Leeds, a Scottish international, you have to face players like that.
“I’m so glad you promoted Leeds last season, but on Sunday I definitely need to have one with him.
“We’ve been looking to play golf for a while, but under the circumstances, it’s hard. I spoke to him on Thursday and I’ll probably get in touch with him before the game.
“He signed the same day as me and kept in touch ever since. He’s doing great and I’m satisfied for him. “
All this is suspended tomorrow.
