Two Serie A clubs bet on the Lazio midfielder

Two Serie A clubs have started talks with Lazio to request the return of midfielder Toma Basic ahead of a possible transfer.

The Biancocelesti have been working hard to bolster Marco Baroni’s squad this summer, investing in Loum Tchaouna, Tijjani Noslin, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Gaetano Castrovilli and Nuno Tavares. The club also plans to sign a new striker and, in all likelihood, a new midfielder.

Lazio is also trimming fat in its squad, willing to lighten the salary bill and make room for new signings. Mohamed Fares, Andre Anderson, Matteo Cancellieri, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and Basic are all on the chopping block as the second month of the moving market approaches.

According to Il Tempo (via TMW), Venice and Parma have contacted Lazio to ask for information about Basic, who is no longer working on Baroni’s loan in Rome. The 27-year-old has a contract with the club until June 2026 and has also caught the attention of France.

The Croatian midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Salernitana, where he played 1,166 minutes of action in 15 games.
