“He’s running on the ground, the guy grabs his shirt and takes it off. Then Klay backs off,” Kerr told reporters. There was no way Klay could have been deported. It’s ridiculous. “
McDaniels said he was “just looking to protect myself. ” He said Thompson grabbed him by the neck. He added that there was some aggression at first between the teams, but he didn’t think it would get to the point it had.
“There’s some back-and-forth chatter, but I don’t take it seriously,” McDaniels said. “I laugh. And then I guess it’s more vital to him. “
Gobert had his when Green got up and headbutted him.

“My first thought was, ‘I’m not going to fight. I’ve got to be in this game to help my team,'” the star midfielder said. “I just showed the referee that I had my hands up and waited until the stage was over. Nothing else. It wasn’t enough of a strangulation to put me to sleep. “

Team leader Tyler Ford said Gobert was a “peacemaker” and was not ejected for his participation.
“I think the ejections were the right ones,” T’Wolves coach Chris Finch said. “I think they were justified. I think (the referees) did a smart job of taking the game from that point of view. The game was very physical, but it wasn’t a very damaging or impossible game. “
