Liverpool supporters will have learned a lot about their team during Wednesday’s 3-2 loss against PSV Eindhoven.
It would be an attractive night for the reds, and many faces rarely realized to make the holidays to the Netherlands.
Although he stole the chance to look at his same old favourites, there’s still plenty of intrigue for enthusiasts in Liverpool’s XI.
Arne Slot has made vital calls, moving Andy Robertson at the Central Center and making Jayden Danns a record in Europe for Liverpool.
However, perhaps the most narrated of Slot’s decisions to start James McConnell in midfield is Tyler Morton.
Morton has two years of McConnell, McConnell’s senior and the kind of must-have national cuts so far this season. But after being relegated to a 38-minute cameo, Morton now seems doomed to settle for a disappointing spell at Liverpool.
It has been a tough season for Morton. His second-half appearances at PSV was just his fifth of the season, and his first in either the Premier League or Champions League.
After doing well against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup earlier this month, Morton suggested he was looking to leave Liverpool in the January window.
While this hasn’t materialized so far, the 22-year-old’s lack of action may imply an exit that’s setting the scenes.
With such a rotated team in place, it had felt virtually certain that Morton would start in Eindhoven.

That he didn’t could suggest that a move is in the pipeline between now and Monday’s deadline.
Even if this is the case, making E with Liverpool’s 4 maximum used pitches, even in the team, bodes well for Morton.
If having to start on the bench was bad enough for Morton on Wednesday, then the eye-catching display McConnell produced in his stead made things even worse.
The 20-year-old was given the full 90 minutes, looking assured, composed and tenacious alongside Wataru Endo and then Morton himself.
Slot got excited about McConnell after the game, even hinting that the young man had played his for a loan movement before he closed the window.
Of course, McConnell is doing well not to be bad news for Morton, but it turns out that there is an area for one of them within the Liverpool team.
In our opinion, Morton is the maximum player completed. But with the summer spikes that Liverpool need £20m for the Academy graduate, he is also the ultimate successful asset. In addition, Kop Freckle understands that West Ham were weighing a resolution for Morton Forward of Monday’s move-in deadline.
Whether the Hammers firm up interest remains to be seen. But, unfortunately, Morton’s Liverpool career now looks to be doomed.
