Ukrainian club calls Turkish rival for travelling to Russia to play Gazprom-owned Zenit

GENEVA (AP) — Ukrainian soccer club Dynamo Kyiv has told Turkish rival Fenerbahce it has “blood on its hands” for traveling to Russia to face Zenit St. Petersburg in a preseason match. It is the latest dispute between clubs that met in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League and Europa League last season. Dynamo posted a message on Instagram with red accents on the blue logo of Russian giant Gazprom, owner of Zenit. European Championship days after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February last year. Dynamo says Gazprom’s “damn money” left Fenerbahce “without honour or conscience”.
