Notre Dame is expected to reach school football playoffs, however, UNC may be the spoiler.
The No. 25 North Carolina Tar Heels will host the No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday afternoon. While the Tar Heels want absolute chaos to have the chance to play in the ACC championship game, this is a game where the Golden Domers too If they do, then it would possibly be the first nail in the coffin, almost knowing that another will come.
North Carolina has a couple of bad losses behind the Florida State Seminoles and the Virginia Cavaliers in the show; however, they have the talent, training and space environment in a stealth game to succeed in this amazing reversal of Notre Dame. Carolina did that, she’d put all the tension in Notre Dame in the future. Hell, they even go back to Wake Forest.
Okay, maybe they won’t, but the Demon Deacons are a well-trained team that doesn’t fight. In the end, Notre Dame will be able to reach the ACC championship game in Charlotte with a better 11-0 and 10-0 ACC game. A loss to North Carolina does not eliminate them from the playoff conversation, however, a loss in the opposite name match to the Clemson Tigers probably will.
Notre Dame is talented, but the Golden Domers also had a chance to beat Clemson as they did. All lined up for the Irish on Saturday night. In the most likely rematch, it will be in an unbiased place, Clemson will have his beginner quarterback and the Tigers will play with a stone on their shoulders. If Notre Dame beats Clemson twice, so much better for them, but by no way. .
Even if Notre Dame loses the ACC championship game to Clemson, there’s still a smart chance that the Irish will still be in the four-team package. However, if they lose to North Carolina on Friday night and fall to Clemson in Charlotte in a few weeks, then there is no way for Notre Dame to enter. That’s why Notre Dame can’t slide here, yet sweeping Clemson will be so hard.
