From assists to blank sheets of paper and saved goals, the stats reveal an Inter Milan side that has dominated Serie A in almost every aspect.
Today’s print edition of Milan’s Gazzetta dello Sport, FCInterNews, highlights the Nerazzurri’s great start to the season in several categories.
Inter are at the top of the table, with the biggest problems in Serie A.
The Nerazzurri have scored the most goals, and conceded the fewest.
Obviously, these are the kinds of statistics that will be most important in assessing Inter’s start to the season.
However, the beginning of Inter’s crusade is limited to that.
And La Gazzetta publishes some more impressive stats that put the Nerazzurri well ahead of the rest of the Italian elite.
First of all, there are assists.
While Lautaro Martinez made headlines with his twelve league goals, Marcus Thuram also led the league in another league.
The Frenchman has made five assists so far in the campaign. That is more than anyone else in Serie A.
And Frederick Dimarco is simply Thuram.
The Inter winger provides 4 assists. This puts the 26-year-old in second place in the assists table along with other players.
Inter have scored 29 goals this season and registered 22 assists, more assists than any other team this season.
This statistic shows how the Nerazzurri played as a team to create their chances. And I did it better than anyone in the Italian top flight.
And at the other end, Inter have kept eight clean sheets from their first four matches.
They are more than the others in Serie A, with the exception of Juventus, who also have eight.
Inter have the highest accuracy of defenders at five years of age and the maximum at nine.
Then there is the Nerazzurri’s conversion rate of chances at 14.22%. That is also the highest in the league.
What is clear, says La Gazzetta, is that in a multitude of statistical categories Inter is currently a better-oiled device than the rest of Serie A.
