Xavier Griffin is currently one of the most recruited defensive players of the 2026 season.
Four-star linebacker from Gainesville, Georgia, Xavier Griffin won an offer from USC. Griffin ranks seventh among the nation’s linebackers and 77th among general customers by 2026 in the On3 industry rankings.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound emerging youngster has offers from Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State, among others. According to MaxPreps, he had a 2023 season, recording 52 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks.
“He’s such a long kid, he was given duration and he was given incredible speed and final speed. The challenge is that it has a maximum ceiling. That’s the wonderful thing about him. He’s a special kid. “He’s a wonderful character. He works incredibly hard as a team player. He’s pretty professional,” said Josh Niblett, coach at Gainesville High School.
USC linebackers coach Matt Entz would love to expand and teach this prospect, who seems to have a lot of advantages.
