MANCHESTER, England (AP) – Manchester United signed Ajax midfielder Donny Van De Beek on Wednesday for the English club’s first addition to the window.
The 23-year-old Dutch foreigner’s deal is 39 million euros ($46 million), plus another five million euros ($6 million) in add-ons, Ajax said.
Van De Beek, who played a role in Ajax’s race to the Champions League semi-finals last year, signed a five-year contract with the option of an additional season and can shape an exciting midfield mix with Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.

Van De Beek rose through the ranks of Ajax and left his mark on the Dutch national team.
He will do so to Manchester after the Next Double Match of the Dutch League of Nations with Poland and Italy.
