Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisted that Donny van de Beek would get game time while trying to balance his lineup.
Van de Beek arrived from the bank when United went back through an initial deficit to defeat Newcastle United 4–1 in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Dutch alien traded Ajax for United before the movement window closed with wonderful fanfare, but a league match for the Red Devils has not yet begun.
Solskjaer resisted calls to free Van de Beek after United’s 6–1 goal at the hands of Tottenham before the foreign break: the Dutch midfielder replaced Daniel James with 14 minutes to the final at St James’ Park.
When asked about Van de Beek as he tries to welcome Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Fred and Scott McTominay, Solskjaer told reporters: “You will have your playing time. I was in the group.
‘I think you see it today and in education it’s so neat and tidy, I don’t think I’ve lost the ball once.
“It’s about placing balance on the team. We won 4-1 and wonder why one of the players didn’t start.
“It will have a very clever effect on the team. “
United Captain Harry Maguire tied the game in the 23rd minute to score a Luke Shaw in the minute before Fernandes, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford scored in the final.
The Red Devils had lost two of their first three Premier League matches before enjoying their 10th win back in front of Newcastle in England’s elite, the maximum of all against a single opponent in the competition, according to Opta.
United rank 14th in the Premier League standings in four games, seven front editions of Everton.
Solskjaer United will open their Champions League crusade on Tuesday at Paris Saint-Germain, runner-up of the season.
