Villarreal have spent a lot this week, getting the signings of Luiz Junior and Thierro Barry from Famalicao and FC Basel respectively. They are still finished and are close to reaching an agreement for a new centre-back.
A new central defender has been on Marcelino García Toral’s agenda throughout the summer. It’s a domain they fought hard for last season, and Willy Kambwala was signed from Manchester United, a first-choice option was also desired.
They are close to finalizing this option, as Relevo reported that a deal is close to being made for Logan Costa. Villarreal and Toulouse are lately in complex negotiations, with fees reported, through Nico Schira, at 16 million euros.

Costa would be a signing for Villarreal, and with him and Kambwala, the Yellow Submarine have a very promising long-term pair in the centre of defence. For now, it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached.
