Vinicius Junior revealed that Barcelona was interested in signing him, but opted to sign for Real Madrid’s Staunch Enemies after having only two days to make a decision.
Brazil officially arrived at The Santiago Bernabéu in July 2018, a year after Madrid reached a 38.7 million pound deal with Flamengo.
He still has to double the club’s goals, but is well on track in the massive March 2-0 win over the Rival League of the Angels, Barcelona.
However, things may have been very different for Vinicius, as he was at the extreme presented with the opportunity to sign for Barca in 2017.
“He had proposals from Barca and Madrid and had only two days to choose,” he said in Real Madrid’s documentary “Campo de Estrellas”.
“I’ve noticed madrid for a long time, I win everything and I’m very successful.”
Vinicius, who would be a target for Manchester United, remains grateful to the former Flamengo Club for providing him with a platform to showcase his talent.
“I come from Sao Goncalo, which is a very place, ” he said.
“They helped me when I didn’t have cash to pay for the academy and let me exercise for a long time without paying.
“My father went to paint in Sao Paulo, so I can have cash to exercise and play football.”
