Vinícius Júnior has extended his contract with Real Madrid until June 2027, the La Liga club announced on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Brazilian striker joined Madrid in July 2018 and has established himself as one of the club’s top players.

“Real Madrid CF and Viní Jr. have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which will remain at the club until June 30, 2027,” Real Madrid said in a statement.
“Viní Jr. arrived at Real Madrid in July 2018, at just 18 years old, and made his debut for Real Madrid Castilla on August 26. During his six seasons in the first team he played 235 games in which he scored 63 goals and won nine trophies: one Champions League, two Club World Cups, one European Super Cup, two league titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
“At 23 years of age, Viní Jr. is already one of Real Madrid’s most outstanding players in recent years. He scored the goal that gave us the 14th European Cup in the 2022 final in Paris and won the 2022 Club Ballon d’Or. World Cup in Morocco, won by Real Madrid, the 8th world name in our history.
“He also named the most productive young player in the 2021-22 Champions League, and has been included in the most productive XI in the Champions League twice [2021-22 and 2022-23] and twice in the most productive XI in La Liga [2021-22 and 2022-23]. “
Sources told ESPN that Vinícius’ new contract was set to expire in July 2022, but the club had opted to delay the announcement until now.
Vinícius won the Socrates Award, which rewards the involvement of footballers in solidarity and social projects, at the France Football Ballon d’Or ceremony on Monday for his paintings in Brazil with the Viní Jr. Institute.
He is also one of the leading critics of racism in Spanish football after being continuously subjected to racist abuse by opposition supporters.
The player is part of the new generation of Real Madrid along with Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Federico Valverde and this season, Jude Bellingham.
His most outstanding campaign came in 2021-22 when he scored 17 goals in La Liga. He has scored 10 times in 2022-23 and has scored two league goals this season after missing a month through injury.
