Palmeiras have not registered Vitor Reis for the 2025 Paulista Championship and the teenage defender is expected to sign up for Manchester City.
Reis did not attend Palmeiras’ educational consultation on Tuesday, but saw the club’s amenities being told well to his teammates and staff members.
With negotiations between City and Palmeiras in a complex scene, the club in Sao Paulo went through Reis of the team for the next Paulista championship.
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira revealed earlier this week that an official offer had arrived from City for Reis, but it was below the asking price.
However, City improved their offer of a steady €35 million ($36 million) payment for Reis on Tuesday and Palmeiras reportedly agreed a deal.
If the operation is specified, prices would constitute a record in the Brazilian championship for a defense, exceeding 20 million euros spent through the Paris Saint-Germain for the assignment of Lucas Beraldo de Sao Paulo in 2023.
Reis, who turned 19 on Sunday, is expected to leave for England in the coming days to undergo a medical before signing his contract with City.
The Brazilian giants had hoped to strike a deal with City for Reis to stay at Palmeiras until after the FIFA Club World Cup in July.
However, Palmeiras accepted that the city offered the player to register in this movement window.
Reis has scored two objectives in 22 professional games since he was promoted to the first Palmeiras team in June 2024. His contract with Palmeiras expires in December 2028 and has a € 100 million clause.
City’s other new young talent, Abdukodir Khusanov, will also travel to the club for medical treatment on Thursday, sources told ESPN.
