Lazio winger Manuel Lazzari is keen to leave the capital this summer and has reportedly presented his to Inter Milan.
The 30-year-old has been working at the Stadio Olimpico since 2019.
The Italian has enjoyed two impressive campaigns with Simone Inzaghi at the helm, presenting himself as one of the most explosive wingers in Serie A.
So when the Italian coach joined Inter in 2021, Lazzari did the same.
But eventually the Nerazzurri recruited Denzel Dumfries to update Achraf Hakimi on the right wing.
As a result, Lazzari remained at Formello, but was unable to recover the forged screens produced under Inzaghi’s direction.
The Italian has had his ups and downs Maurizio Sarri and has fallen further down the pecking order since the arrival of Igor Tudor.
According to FcInterNews, Lazzari maintains a bloodless and remote relationship with the Croatian strategist.
That’s why the former Spal winger is desperate for a new club.
As he explains, the player’s entourage has already introduced him to Inter and they hope to revive his career by reuniting him with Inzaghi.
This may be a timely solution for the Nerazzurri, who risk wasting Dumfries this summer.
The Dutchman’s contract expires in 2025. The club still have to convince him to sign a new contract, but they have to reduce their heavy demands.
Otherwise, the Serie A champions will sell the Dutch star this summer to avoid wasting him a year later.
This would leave a void in Inzaghi’s team, forcing control to acquire a new player.
Inter therefore believe that they have added Lazzari to the shortlist.
However, a deal would count on Lazio’s asking price, which would not be too high considering the Italian’s age and prestige in the team.
The 30-year-old’s contract with the Biancocelesti is valid until 2027.
