The flag playoffs are officially here.
The district tournaments started on Monday, in the 1A and 2A categories. In addition to being overshadowed by Monday’s special eclipse, some regional groups are in a prime position to make some noise as they progress through district tournaments.
The following is a recap of the Regional District Quarterfinals that took place on Monday, April 8.

Booker T. Washington 54, Pensacola 0: The Wildcats’ long streak continues in the playoffs.
After knocking out Pensacola in back-to-back games, Booker T. He is now on a 10-game winning streak, having won the last few games by shutout.
Quarterback Anaiyah Adams scored five of the team’s touchdowns, two in the air. Da’rieon Gilbert threw two interceptions and two in one go. Larissa Sites threw 3 interceptions with one touchdown.
Devani Williams had two touchdowns with one interception.
“The offense and the defense were firing on all cylinders,” offensive coordinator Andrew Lafontant said. “The only thing that’s special is that we have a whole team of freshmen and sophomores who are freshmen. We only have two juniors and one senior. We know what awaits us. us in the future. But we’re focusing on the here and now. “
The win continues what has been a turnaround season for the Wildcats under second-year head coach Joshua Brooks. It’s the first time the team has had a consistent workout from one year to the next, Lafontant added.
The players understood what kind of formula the coaches were looking for and didn’t start from the beginning.
“Right now we’re building a winning tradition. Women know what it takes to win,” Lafontant said. “They sense the expectations. “
Pensacola’s season ended with a 0–12 record, after falling to Booker T. three times this year. The Wildcats (10-3) defer Fort Walton Beach in the semifinals on Tuesday.
This will be the third assembly between the district’s warring parties, what Lafontant now officially calls a “rivalry,” this season. The Vikings won 25-0 on Feb. 23 before the Wildcats won on March 15 27-0.
The first game component of a difficult start to the season, where Booker T “voluntarily” took on tough regional teams, adding Fort Walton Beach, Pace and Destin, who compete as an independent team in the FHSAA.
“It’s going to be a question of who can play football without making a mistake,” Lafontant said. “The first time we went to Fort Walton Beach before the end of the basketball season. Now, our athletes on this team are betting on us again. . . . . We’re excited to face them again. “
Pine Forest 13, Escambia 6: The Eagles advance to the semifinals after dominating their county opponent, Escambia.
Statistics were available on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individual statistics were provided.
Fourth-seeded Pine Forest will face Choctaw on Tuesday. The Indians, the 2023 state finalists, are undefeated this year.
Crestview 25, Tate 0: The Aggies closed through Crestview, ending their 2024 season.

Tate’s season ends with an overall record of 5-7. The Bulldogs (8-7) defeated Navarra (13-1), the No. 1 seed in the district tournament, on Tuesday.
Niceville 12, Gulf Breeze 6: The Dolphins are narrowly qualified for the district semifinals.
Niceville scored once in the first quarter and again in the third. The Dolphins’ score came in the third frame of the game and failed to tie the game.
Individual statistics were reported.
Gulf Breeze the season with a record 4-8. No. 3 Niceville (9-5) travels to No. 2 Pace on Tuesday for the semifinals.
