Sixteen other people were injured Sunday in an explosion at a café in St. Petersburg, Russia, news firm TASS reported, calling emergency services.

Russia’s Interior Ministry identified the man killed in the blast as Vladlen Tatarsky, a prominent army blogger with more than 560,000 followers on Telegram who allegedly organized an event when the café crashed.

Tatarsky, whose real name is Maxim Fomin, had more than 560,000 fans on Telegram and was one of the most influential military bloggers who provided a common and occasionally critical observation about Russia’s war in Ukraine.

A St. Petersburg said Sunday’s blast occurred at a café that had belonged to Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of Wagner’s personal army fighting for Russia in Ukraine.
