“We are gutted and humiliated”: Bundobust to Birmingham siege

The restaurant, in a Grade II indexed building on Bennetts Hill, is spread over two floors and will close on July 14.

Announcing the closure, the band said: “This is our tenth year as Bundobust and we’ve had some important moments as a small group.

“Unfortunately, we have also taken a less pleasant step, which we hoped we would never have to take. We have made the complicated decision to close Bundobust Birmingham.

“Birmingham is the furthest position from the house we had ventured into, but in visiting places like Digbeth, Moseley, Jewellery Quarter and King’s Heath, we recognised many parallels between the other people and the hospitality network here and the cities we already operate in, which made Birmingham feel like a home away from home.

“Unfortunately, despite the enthusiasm of a giant community, steady commerce just hasn’t been there for us in our small downtown neighborhood. “

Bundobust was founded by his friends Mayur Patel and Marko Husak in 2013. The Birmingham restaurant opened in the summer of 2023 and is the fifth establishment in the group.

The organization has announced that a third of the Birmingham restaurant’s team will be moved to its facilities in Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool.

“We love Brum and our brilliant team there, so it’s not a decision we’ve taken lightly, but the closure of Birmingham will allow us to focus on the fun of Bundobust at all our other venues, and other exciting venues. Future plans.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported us, from companies to customers. “

Bundobust operates two restaurants in Manchester, plus a brewery, one in Liverpool and one in Leeds.
