West Brom manager Carlos Corberan has replaced his starting XI for the Southampton game on Saturday afternoon. Albion face the Saints in search of a fourth straight league win, a feat they have not achieved since last season’s festive period.

Looking to reflect that run, when they beat Bristol City, Preston North End, Reading and Luton Town, Corberan reintroduced Nathaniel Chalobah into their starting XI, in Alex Mowatt’s position, from the side that faced Hull City in the 3-1 draw. . victory last weekend.

Chalobah, who has rejuvenated in weeks, joins Okay Yokuslu in midfield, with Grady Diangana, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Jed Wallace operating in more complex roles. Matt Phillips is expected to continue on the left side.

In defence, Conor Townsend did enough to maintain his position at full-back having returned for the stopover at his former club Hull. Kyle Bartley has unsurprisingly checked his continuity after being sent off last week, meaning striker Semi Ajayi will have to continue hoping for a chance from him from the get-go.

West Bromwich XI: Palmer; Furlong, Kipre, Bartley, Townsend, Phillips; Yokuslu, Chalobah, Diangana, Wallace, Thomas-Asante.

Substitutes: Griffiths, Ajayi, Pipa, Taylor, Pieters, Molumby, Mowatt, Fellows, Sarmiento.
