Former Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar to bolster their attack. However, the Dutchman opted to stay in England and sign for West Ham United.

Summerville played 49 games for Leeds United, scoring 21 goals and adding 10 assists. Thanks to this production, he was on the move on the wish lists of several clubs this summer.

Last month, he reported that PSG had contacted the Summerville entourage about a possible move this summer and had the best resources to sign him. In addition, some other report revealed that Liverpool also contacted the 22-year-old.

However, it was West Ham who ended up winning the race to take over Summerville and on Saturday the Premier League club announced the player’s arrival. Furthermore, the winger spoke about his decision to sign for the Hammers.

“There is a lot of history here and the team has done very well in the Premier League and in Europe in recent years,” Summerville told West Ham’s official website. “I spoke to [coach Julen Lopetegui] and he convinced me that he could influence and help us be successful in the new season.

“I think I’m here to help make more history here and I’d like to help West Ham get back to Europe. I need to contribute a lot of passes and assists, and I’m really excited to meet my teammates and the fans and get there now.

At PSG, Summerville is unlikely to start from the start, so perhaps going to West Ham will allow him to play as a starter as soon as possible.
