LEXINGTON – Only 3 players from the Kentucky basketball team, senior Antonio Reeves and sophomores Adou Thiero and Ugonna Onyenso, were with the team last season in their exclusive functionality at the SEC tournament. Of that trio, only Reeves played more than a minute in an 80-73 quarterfinal loss to Vanderbilt. Knowing the scenario the Wildcats will face on Friday, when they enter this year’s occasion as the No. 2 seed, Bruiser Flint stated that most of the team’s players will face their nerves before the announcement.
But this is a challenge that the UK plans to solve.
“All you’re looking for is to pass out and play. . . You have to take it one step at a time,” said Flint, Kentucky’s head coach. “We just hope everyone is on the same page. You’re nervous before games. I don’t care if you’re a player or a coach. But once you’ve experienced it, you realize it’s part of the game. “

Thiero doesn’t sweat.
“Just like in the first 4 minutes, other people happen to get gassed because everybody’s adrenaline gets going and all that,” he said. “But after that first breath, I think everyone will be fine. “
Flint already knows what to expect from Friday’s opponent, Texas A.
“I know they’ve had some bumps in the road during the season,” he said, “but Wade Taylor (IV) is one of the most productive players in the league and they’ve taken it to another level. “
