The amount of cash spent in the Premier League can distort the outlook on the actual amount of cash in other leagues, such as the Eredivisie.
While colossal sales in the Netherlands have been a stable business for more than a decade, with Ligt’s Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs recently achieving 65 million and 67. 5 million pounds respectively, purchases are less common.
The most sensible Dutch flight recently set a new record for the highest incoming moving fares ever achieved, but what about its other big revenue? And what happened to players who made big moves in one of the skill factories in Europe?
We look at incoming transactions in Eredivisie’s story and ask . . . What happened next?
You must be at least 18 years old and aware of the game to register for the Football Index. Correct values at the time of typing 23:30, 11/01/2021.
The guy with one of football’s most important names will only show the difference in monetary force because at nine million euros, his move to PSV in 2001 is enough to make the 10 most sensitive (as a reference, the Premier League has noticed 50 transfers more beloved than this summer 2020).
What happened next? His performances were as important as his call, as he scored 85 goals in 207 games, winning the Eredivisie three times for the Dutch club before moving to Celtic where he won two more titles. The spells in Hull and Vienna were not as prolific and he finished his career. with one last season on the PSV before retiring in 2012.
Another export of the Twente, Hakim Ziyech has just left the Eredivisie for 40 million euros, but in 2016 Ajax signed it for only 11 million euros. What happened next? Well, it was sensational for the Dutch look and oversaw his return to the foreground. Ziyech showed absurd figures and has become one of the offensive leaders of a team that played in the 2017 Europa League final and the 2019 Champions League semi-finals; He also scored 16 goals for Ajax to win the 2018/19 Eredivisie.
Two years after promotion to Arkadiusz Milik (and when it became clear that Kasper Dolberg might not be his heir), Ajax signed Dusan Tadic of the Premier League. The Serb should have failed everything at the time and seemed strange. Following? Coach Erik ten Hag played Tadic as a fake nine and he and the team exploded.
An impressive 38 purposes in its first season, the key to the Eredivisie’s name (28 purposes) and its mythical race to the Champions League semi-finals (nine purposes). Since then, it has slowed down in terms of purpose production but continues to produce sensational football even at the age of 32. What a signature!
PSV’s attempts to regain his name at Ajax defeated him by Bruma, the Portuguese winger who had done well at Galatasaray and RB Leipzig. What happened next? Unfortunately, very much. Bruma scored a total of five goals in one season and part and signed on loan from Olympiacos in October last year. A frustrating failure.
Despite how wonderful his headhunter has been, Ajax have never been one of Brazil’s young recruiters, however, that replaced when they acquired David Neres, the Brazilian winger in 2017. Neres proved to be a lethal member of Ajax’s attack, scoring 14 times in his first full season and earning the name in the next campaign. He was improving, but a knee injury prevented him from playing at the time of the 2019/20 season. has regained compatibility and hopes to recover.
After his good luck with Neres, Ajax returned to Sao Paolo with the 20-year-old winger Antony. What happened next? Antony has had a promising start to his Ajax career, scoring 8 goals in his first 19 games with the club and winning the Eredivisie Player of the Month award in December. The jury is still absent, but its perspective is obvious.
When Ajax lost Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in January 2009 to Real Madrid, a movement that had been bubbling beneath the surface for months, they were in a position to accept as true that Luis Suarez was the starting number 9 and, therefore, his great acquisition. “replacing” Huntelaar was to bring Miralem Sulejmani to the club the previous summer. What happened next? The Serb proved to be a perfect complement to Uruguayan and Ajax won the Eredivisie in 2010/11.
Even after Suarez’s departure, Sulejmani continued to produce and Ajax won two more names to make the 3 in a row before secretly accepting a loose move to Benfica, which infuriated Ajax’s control and lacked a winner’s medal when Ajax won a fourth consecutive name in 2014.
Sulejmani won names with Benfica before joining the Young Boys, where he won the hat-trick of his career under Swiss names in 2018, 2019 and 2020 (the first was the club’s name in 32 years). He is now in a position to do what he could not do in 2013/14 and win a fourth consecutive name.
Daley Blind grew up in Ajax as the son of club legend Danny, and after earning four consecutive names, he joined Manchester United in 2014. He played well with the Red Devils even though they were a little messy at the time. Despite everything, he left Old Trafford after four years, returning to Ajax for a heer. What happened next? Blind has helped bring joy and leadership to an Ajax team full of young talent. With him in the back, they won the Eredivisie and reached the Champions League final in their first season, and were denied a consecutive name for a moment by nature, they are in a position to retain their crown this season.
After seeing Ajax dominate the 1990s, the PSV made the decision to turn the 2000s into its decade. After making Ruud van Nistelrooy injured, they brought Mateja Kezman for a large amount of money (20 years ago, 16. 4 million euros was a large sum, especially for the Eredivisie).
What happened next? Goals, lots of goals. Kezman formed a fatal association in the attack with a young Arjen Robben and the Serb scored 129 goals in 176 games in four seasons, winning two Eredivisie titles that time.
After this? A lot of nothing. Kezman moved to Chelsea and it didn’t work, then to Atletico Madrid and it didn’t work. He came from a “palier” and joined Fenerbache, regaining his pace and winning some trophies in Turkey, but then moved to PSG and went down again. Some other “one-year spells” on the global followed before his retirement in 2012, having never assumed this form of PSV.
Sebastian Haller seemed like a good fortune in the Premier League when he signed for West Ham, but like many at the East London club, it temporarily turned into disorder and misery. Haller lasted a season and a part before deciding to decline. His defeats with Ajax more than satisfied to rush and the striker incoherent for a moderate price.
What happens next? Well, I can guess, Haller’s already made his debut, betting 44 minutes and picking up a hand when Ajax came back 0-2 to tie 2-2 with PSV. Given Ajax’s fleet of young strikers, an altruistic striker like Haller can thrive as a target in Amsterdam. Let’s see if he does.
