Jadon Sancho needs to return to the Premier League this summer, three years after leaving Manchester City, but Borussia Dortmund refuse to sell the star because Manchester United have lost.
Dortmund sought to finish any sale before they headed to their pre-season education camp in Switzerland.
United have failed to place it in a position that meets the Bundesliga’s valuation of 108 million pounds.
Dortmund director Michael Zorc has warned that Sancho will remain at his club for the 2020/21 campaign.
He said: “We hope to have Jadon Sancho on our team this season, the resolution is final. I think he answers all our questions.
“Last summer, we adjusted Jadon’s salary to adapt it to the evolution of his performance.
“Then, in context, we had already extended his contract until 2023 at the time. “
However, German expert Jan Aage Fjortoft believes Sancho should still leave and explained how the 20-year-old can force a move.
“We were told that they had agreed non-public terms with Manchester United, that’s the simple part,” Fjortoft told ESPN FC.
“It’s just that Sancho is English and will come home at some point.
“I think with the story that Dortmund had with [Ousmane] Dembele and [Pierre-Emerick] Auubameyang, who went on strike to leave the club, it is very good for them to have a very clever discussion with Sancho.
“When Zorc comes out and declares that he will stay, we will see how long that accept will remain as true.
“Dortmund in a general season will have 81,000 in each and every game, but it’s not England yet. “
United played the long match with Dortmund in hopes of lowering their price.
“You cannot delay negotiations like they do,” Fjortoft added. “I think the enthusiasts are tired of Man Utd all those weeks and months to finalize those deals.
“And then they took a look at Liverpool to get a new defender, chop chop chop, then Manchester City made some deals.
“Manchester United continue to comply with all the agreements it makes. “
