Luis Diaz’s father’s comments that “we haven’t given up hope” about moving to Spain have made headlines, but they’re not as sensationalist as they seem.
If you Google Diaz’s call, you might discover that his father was blatantly promoting the No. 7 moving to Spain, and perhaps Real Madrid, as soon as possible.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano was among those who circulated the claims on Twitter, and Diaz Sr. said, “We haven’t lost hope yet. . . Luis is betting well and Spanish clubs are still active in the market. “
Of course, those quotes, which attracted 3 million prospects, were taken out of context.

The ubiquitous Colombian has discussed Diaz’s chances of betting on a Spanish club, notably Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid, but has actively pushed for that move.
Diaz Sr. spoke in an interview with Spanish radio network Cadena SER, where he was asked if he was most likely to move to Madrid before joining Liverpool.
“I didn’t know there was anything positive with the Madrid clubs. I heard things, but I never knew if there was anything else,” he said.
“With Liverpool, everything is more precise. The directive is more explicit for Luis to get there.
“He hopes he can come here. [Radamel] Falcao had been there before, James [Rodriguez] had been there before. . .
“In the end it didn’t happen, but hope hasn’t been lost yet. He’s betting well and the clubs are active.
It came as Colombia faced Romania in a friendly at Atletico’s Wanda Metropolitano on Tuesday night, a 3-2 win in which Diaz played minutes.
“Here you can feel the affection of the people for Luis,” Diaz Sr. said.
“I faint on a walk and they ask me for a lot of photos. Expectations are high.
“Luis himself will be enjoyed and the fans, seeing that wonderful Colombian players have passed through here, love him.
“Falcao, James, [Luis Amaranto] Perea have played here. . . other people like the fact that Luis Diaz is here today. “
Diaz Sr. ‘s comments sound more like a proud father than a relentless middleman urging clubs to sign his son; current links with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona suggest the winger could be open to a decision.
However, when it comes to these latest dates, there doesn’t seem to be anything to worry about; in fact, Diaz Sr. credited “Professor Klopp” for keeping religion in his son.
