Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic revealed the team’s view of Mauricio Pochettino after fans expressed anger at him during the 2-2 draw against Brentford. The enthusiastic visitors at the Gtech Community Stadium turned on the Argentine as they hurled X chants in his direction.
It was a very awkward afternoon for Pochettino, who spent his 52nd birthday feeling the wrath of angry Chelsea fans at Brentford. With his team trailing 2-1, chants of “fuck Mauricio” could be heard outside as they too chanted aloud the call of former coach Jose Mourinho.
Chelsea managed to salvage a draw against their west London rivals, with Axel Disasi securing the overdue equaliser after Mads Roerslev and Yoane Wissa gave the hosts the lead following Nicolas Jackson’s opener.
But the draw didn’t do much to lift the spirits of Chelsea fans and the club as a whole, with huge pressure on Pochettino, with his side in 11th place in the Premier League and closer to the relegation zone than the top four.
But even as there are calls for former Tottenham boss Pochettino to leave Stamford Bridge, the team remains fully behind their manager as they look to temporarily turn their fortunes around. “We’re all in the coach and we’re all behind him,” Petrovic said.
“The last thing is a learning experience because we’re a young team and we do it,” he added. “It’s a smart lesson, a smart school for us. Of course, we are better players now, with more experience after the final. “We’re going to keep going, we’re going to hunt forward to get bigger effects in the Premier League and get a bigger position in the table.
After the final whistle, Pochettino inevitably asked about the chants directed at him and the Argentine had a clear message for them.

“We can’t blame the fans,” Pochettino said. My message is, okay, if you want to show your frustration, it would be through me and not through the team.
“I’m strong and over time we’ll change that perception. But I don’t need enthusiasts to blame the players. I’d be criticized for letting players run loose on the field. I don’t care, I’m strong enough. ” I am now 52 years old.
“The players don’t deserve it. They deserve the credit and that of our fans. If someone has to be blamed, that’s not a problem. That’s why I’m the coach.
