Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri has been included in the squad that will face PSV in the Champions League tonight.
The Gunners have already proven their prestige as Group B winners, Mikel Arteta is ready to make some radical adjustments to his team, but will the youngster be available in Eindhoven?
Ethan Nwaneri is a 16-year-old midfielder who plays for Arsenal and is the youngest to play in the Premier League.
He made top-flight history by replacing Fabio Vieria in the 92nd minute of the Gunners’ 3-0 win at Brentford on September 18, 2022.
At 15 years and 181 days, he broke the previous record held by Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott.
Nwaneri can make even more history tonight by becoming the youngest Arsenal player to play in the Champions League at 16 years and 265 days, surpassing Jack Wilshere’s record of 64 days in 2008.
The midfielder also played for England at Under-17 level on 21 occasions, scoring goals.
Arsenal fans hope Nwaneri can follow in the footsteps of academy graduates Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, who are now first-team regulars.
