Who is the Liverpool Wonderkid Rio Ngumoha, 16, who becomes the youngest of the Reds after his debut in the FA Cup

RIO NGUMOHA has been handed a shock first start for Liverpool in the FA Cup third round against Accrington Stanley.

He will be Liverpool’s youngest player when he debuted for the Ligue Deux team.

The 16-year-old wonderkid “truly believes” he can win the Ballon d’Or one day and is the talk of the Anfield faithful?

SunSport is on hand to shed some light on the starlet, who has the brightest of futures ahead of him.

The teenager joined the Merseysiders in September from Chelsea in a deal that proved to be the last of Arne Slot’s first transfer window.

Liverpool took the step to point to the star in April after seeing its goals in the best victory of the Premier League of Chelsea 17s opposite to the wolves.

But west London’s fury against Ngumoha going through the Reds meant he could play for Kop Club’s under-118s before September.

The striker inspired his brief stint at the club, so much so that he was called up to work out with the first team in November.

Ngumoha recently travelled with the Reds for their Champions League clash with Girona.

But it is not eligible to play in the FIT because it did not meet the criteria of list B for the competition of the Elite Europe Club.

The only way he could’ve played in the match would have been if he’d taken a place in the 25-man List A squad.

He was then an unused substitute for the Reds during the Carabao Cup match against Southampton on December 19.

The right -footed star can play on the front line, but it is basically on the left wing.

Ngumoha has been capped at Under-15 and Under-17 level for the Three Lions, finding the back of the net twice for the former side.

Ngumoha has no confidence and has already thrown his purpose to the victory of the Ball of Or: he did not have a single appearance in the first team in his name.

During an internal appearance of the academy, he said: “I think I can win the Golden Ball one day.

“I want to be regarded as one of the best players to ever play football and be a legend of the game.

“Love to football at the age of 4 or five.

“I looked at my brother and wanted it to be like him.

“I went to academies from a young age and it’s a great thing when so many clubs were looking to point me out.

“I learned that you have to be resistant and in yourself.

“You can have some bad games, however, you have to be the best.

“For me, if I’m in a bad condition, I put on my paintings. “

Ahead of Ngumoha’s debut, Slot said: “It’s special that if young players are making their debut, there’s a smile on my face, he’s a little boy.

“Every time he trains with us, he’s afraid to do what’s good. “

He won the blouse No. 73.
