bundesliga.com introduces the young Frenchman on his way to the most sensible Array..
A hard and dynamic centre forward, Augustine’s upward trajectory has stalled at paris Saint-Germain’s house club, with the switch to former East Germany meant to allow his career to take off.
Nominally signed through Leipzig to upgrade Davie Selke (who joined Hertha Berlin), Augustin is indeed a very different player and has already had an effect on the club, quite coinciding brilliantly with Timo Werner.

While Selke is a wonderful distant striker, coming to life within the area, Augustine is powerful, fast, direct and able to make things happen both outdoors and within the area.
Seeing the 20-year-old player in action when France won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship last summer proves it: without exaggeration, Augustin looked like a long-term Ballon d’Or winner, beating and beating his new Mbappé to finish. as the most sensible scorer in the tournament with six goals in five games.

In terms of raw talent, there is little selection between Augustin and Mbappé, the latter having had the language throughout Europe last season. While Mbappé may have benefited from greater opportunities so far in his young career, Augustine will look to end that lead in Leipzig in 2017/18. In fact, it was Augustine who selected him as the most productive player in this tournament, underlining his promise.
“I myself am an author [as much as a centre forward],” Augustin recently told the French online page Elevenmondial. “I don’t think it doesn’t matter where you play.” He added at his opening in Leipzig that he sought to “help the team cross the line of attack.”

Although Agustín’s role as artistic central forward is fostered through his idol Suarez, the young man has never achieved his breakthrough in the first team full of PSG stars, despite being at the club since the age of 11. Agustín has only played 10 appearances in Ligue 1. 2016/17, scoring one goal and returning two assists.
However, the lack of normal football does not mean that Augustine could not expand at PSG; Away from that, actually. As a member of the first team since 2015, the young man has perfected his attacking task alongside Edinson Cavani and Ibrahimovic, the latter providing advice and tricks of the trade.

“Playing with Zlatan is very impressive,” Augustin recently told LCI. “He’s a giant and a huge character. He works all the time and needs to win everything, even in workouts. This is one of your assets. By betting next to him and watching him, we can only learn.”
In a hurry for the summit, Augustin also one of the ten brightest young players on the Messi team in November 2016, an advertising crusade through adidas in collaboration with the great Barcelona player. “It’s not tension at all, ” said Augustine in the spotlight. “I’m not someone who pushes me. I am very pleased to have been selected through it.”
This perspective has long stood out at the youth level: in addition to the good luck of the Euro under-19, Augustin also attracted attention at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup this summer. The new Leipzig boy discovered the net 4 times in three games in South Korea (and missed a penalty), averaging a purpose every 55 minutes. In reality, this functionality would have been superior if France had not been eliminated through Italy in the last 16 stages.
Having represented France in all grades of youth, Augustin admits that a full national appeal would be “a dream” and turns out to be the ideal position to make it happen.
Young, hungry, shown and physically capable, the striker fits perfectly into the Leipzig style. He has already adapted perfectly to Ralph Hasenh-ttl’s favourite high-pressure style, scoring two points and offering two assists in Bundesliga matches to date. From there, the sky is the limit. Take it from Messi.
