Barcelona midfielder Gavi is among the high-profile stars missing from tonight’s Euro 2024 final against England, on talkSPORT.
The 19-year-old Spanish sensation has already made 27 appearances for his country despite his young age, but is not yet in Germany.
La Roja reached the final despite not having the talent of Gavi.
Spain are looking for European champions for the fourth time and will face England in Berlin, live on talkSPORT.
Gavi suffered a serious knee injury in November that ended his season and left him out of the European Championship.
During the first half of Spain’s 3-1 win over Georgia on Nov. 19, the teenager fell while holding his knee.
He gave the impression of landing awkwardly after looking at the ball, and Gavi left the area in tears.
“He says it wasn’t the blow yet, that it didn’t look good and his knee fell,” Spain coach Luis de los Angeles Fuente said.
“He is [emotionally] devastated, destroyed. »
Barcelona later showed that their homegrown player had torn his ACL.
The Catalos angelesns are said to be with Spanish coach De los Ángeles Fuente to take on Gavi in the game.
La Roja had already sealed their qualification for the Euro Cup three days earlier against Cyprus and yet Gavi was one of only two players to start both matches despite fears about his workload.
De los Ángeles Fuente, however, said: “I see Barça’s angelesints plots, but if it wasn’t Gavi, it may have happened to someone else. “
“It can be in a La Liga match, in education or in any situation.
“Sometimes other people don’t realize how threatening every moment is from the moment you put on your boots.
“It was an accident, an accident, but Gavi was perfectly fit to play. “
He missed the rest of the 2023/24 season, but has now returned to begin Barcelona’s pre-season training, so he will be back in action soon.
Plus, he’s in Berlin to watch his teammates potentially win the European Championship title.
According to reports in his country, the King of Spain, Felipe, even invited Gavi to the final.
Felipe reportedly told Gavi: “See you in Berlin, you can’t miss it, you are part of this team. “
On Sunday morning, images shared on social media showed Gavi arriving at the Spanish team’s hotel, where he greeted via De los Ángeles Fuente and the president of the Spanish Football Federation, Pedro Rocha.
This shows how much Gavi is appreciated and will be eager for his return.
