Will Keane, former Manchester United manager at Wigan

Wigan has hired free agent forward Will Keane on a short-term contract.

The 27-year-old left Ipswich in May and trained with the Latics in the preseason, representing them in friendly against Bolton and Bradford.

The club has now signed a first three-month contract that will keep Keane at the club until January 2021.

It will be the striker’s time at DW Stadium, having played for the team on a Manchester United loan period in 2013.

“I am satisfied to be here,” he told the club’s website.

“I’m excited about the matches ahead of us, being part of the team and doing my best.

“I came here to exercise at the end of August and had some pre-season matches. It took me a little longer than I would have liked, but I am pleased to be back here.

“The boys are full of confidence and I’m sure seeing some new faces walk through the door helped because more festival of punches is what everyone has to throw. “
