The motion #FixMaddenFranchise started more than a month ago, and EA has spoken several times on the subject, the main points of promised innovations have not yet been shared. Despite recent news about existing and long-term NFL football games, it turns out that EA would have additional motivation to fix its franchise.
Last week, 2K announced its main partnership at the moment with NFL-related entities. I had already received a license for an un simulated game with the names and logos of NFL teams, but this recent top deal also allows 2K to use NFL players in their upcoming platform football titles.
We communicate about non-simulation, but if you know PARK in NBA 2K, you know what kind of monster 2K can create in an un simulated environment. When you increase your ability to use NFL players, the odds are almost endless.
NFL MyTeam, NFL PARK and other 7 vs. 7 competitions with microtransactions, player creation, etc. If the All-Pro Football 2K8 game engine is updated, the frame for anything would be in place.
These probabilities do not go unnoticed through EA. In fact, it’s the idea that The Yard, EA’s still-announced and filtered arcade mode in Madden, will be boosted by 2K with an NFL-PARK game.
All of this makes sense from EA’s point of view, however, here is an additional technique that EA can take that would not only comply with the possible 2K arcade title, but would also have control of Madden in the simulation space.
By striving for Madden 21 franchise mode after launch, and then making the mode a precedence in Madden 22 (i.e. developing it to make it the most productive edition of the concept of its kind), EA can simply build its domain in the area, 2K cannot operate. As a laugh as an arcade game can evolve through 2K, it still works with limitations. These are restrictions that EA does not have at any level.
Of course, EA can offer a stellar arcade concept like The Yard. It makes all the sense in the world. However, they would miss the opportunity to seal their base if they did not take this opportunity to maximize their exclusive access to the NFL simulation experience.
