Manchester United suffered a third consecutive defeat, while the Wolves threatened by the descent left all three in the back of the Premier League with a 2-0 house victory against Ruben Amorim’s team.
Looking to bounce back from their humble defeat to Bournemouth at the weekend, United were frustrated in confusing situations against a Wolves side that was betting with renewed confidence on new boss Vitor Perira.
The game was turned on its head just two minutes into the second half when Bruno Fernandes was given his third red card of the season after a second yellow card for a foul on Nelson Semedo.
The home side capitalised shortly afterwards when in-form striker Mattheus Cunha scored direct from a corner.
And as the visitors looked for an equalizer in the final minutes, Hwang Hee-Chan scored on the break to ensure Wolves’ trouble.
