Wolves 2-0 Man Utd: Fernandes sent off as Amorim’s side lose third straight game

Manchester United fell to a third defeat in a row as relegation-threatened Wolves moved out of the Premier League bottom three with a 2-0 home win over Ruben Amorim’s side.

Looking to bounce back from their humiliating defeat to Bournemouth this weekend, United were frustrated in confusing situations through a Wolves side playing with renewed confidence under new Patrier Vitor Perira.

The game turned a two minutes from the first moment when Bruno Fernandes won his 3rd red card of the season after a yellow card for a foul on Nelson Semedo.

Soon after, the home team took the credit when in-form striker Mattheus Cunha scored directly from a corner.

And while the visitors came looking for an equalizer in the final, Hwang Hee-chan grabbed a score at half-time to ensure trouble for Wolves/

The hectic Christmas schedule continues for both sides. United dace a tough test at home against in-form Newcastle on Monday, while Wolves visit Tottenham the day before.

“Of course, when you lose, when we don’t win, it’s a step back. It was complicated with the delivery. The purpose was opposed to Tottenham.

“So we tried. Even with one less player we tried and I think we were close to achieving something, but then the Wolves scored the second. Then at the end we tried everything and transitioned 2-0. For us, let’s continue.

The first purpose is a fault: “I think it can’t happen to the ball. He tries to succeed in the ball and some boys don’t even look at the ball, but I don’t need to concentrate on it. I think what is intelligent is that we were Near the purpose, even ten.

‘I feel so happy. Vitor came with a lot of energy and we feel this. We come together, we suffer together, we score together. It means a lot, in the stadium you can see how happy they are.

Having an effect on the new manager: “He came here with a lot of energy. He said he dreamed of coming to the Premier League and we saw it, we can see this energy. We can come up with these kinds of things.

On his corner goal: “I shoot, we exercise to shoot! At moment one I had that opportunity and I scored the goal!”

The new United manager becomes the first manager to lose even one of his first 10 games for the club in all competitions since Walter Crickmer in January 1932 (6/10).

Plenty of work to be done.

And that will seal it!

United have committed so many bodies forward and Wolves are through on goal after one ball forward.

It’s a two on one for the home side and Cunha makes no mistake, sliding it across to Hwang who fires past Onana to put the result beyond doubt.
