Wolves approach £ 20m Ainsley Maitland-Niles move as Arsenal seek money for a youngster

The 22-year-old all-rounder who played a decisive role in the Gunners’ FA Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley this month.

However, despite having 3 more years left on his current contract with Emirates, one of Arsenal’s brightest young talents has made it clear that he is interested in moving to Molineux.

Although Maitland-Niles made 32 appearances for the Gunners last season, he never felt in the middle of Mikel Arteta’s plans and would do so on the outskirts if he did.

The boss of the Wolves, Nuno, can give him a normal time as a component of his tight first team squad.

The Portuguese boss rewards players who can play positions and Maitland-Niles does the trick as he is able to hold a position in at least 3 positions.

His main role would be to festival supply the back two and, with Spanish foreigner Jonny ruled for the remake of the year, there is a void on the Lobos’ left flank that needs to be filled immediately.

Maitland-Niles can also provide canopy and festival to right back Matt Doherty, in addition to working in midfield.

Nuno believes that the youngster, who was Arsenal’s youngest player in the Champions League when he debuted at 17 against Galatasaray, now has a brilliant long career at Molineux.

He presented him with a four-year contract and despite being with the Gunners since he was six, the former Academy boy is in a position to take the plunge and move to the Midlands.

His arrival will supply more festival in midfield for Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker.

The Wolves seem confident a deal can be made before returning on Sept. 1 and have even allowed young Morgan Gibbs-White to start talks with Swansea about a one-season loan deal.

The former England Youth World Cup winner has struggled to regain his wiser place on the team since risking Nuno’s wrath by violating government lockdown regulations by attending a party in London.

Now it looks like he’s going to be packing his bags, just as Maitland-Niles arrives after making a hundred appearances at the North London club.
