Meanwhile, Everton has shown the signing of a veteran midfielder and two agreements have reportedly been made.
Silva’s record crushes wolves
The Wolves signed Portuguese striker Fabio Silva from Porto for a record payment of millions of euros ($65 million), the two clubs showed on Saturday.
Silva, 18, has scored 3 goals in 24 appearances for Porto’s first team.
“The Wolves are very happy to have secured the signing of young Portuguese striker Fabio Silva del Porto, for a record club payout,” the Premier League team said in a statement.
“The 18-year-old, who is the youngest Porto player and striker to break his teammate’s club club at Wolves Rubén Neves last season, has put his pen on paper in a five-year contract.”
Silva, the tenth Portuguese player in the Wolves team due to close ties between Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes and Chinese club owner Fosun.
Wolf trainer Nuno Espirito Santo is also a consumer of Mendes.
However, Wolves President Jeff Shi downplayed massive pricing considerations for a player with so little experience in the first team.
“He’s a player who needs a few minutes to see his football talent based on herbs,” Shi said on the club’s website.
“In recent years, Fabio has grown very temporarily and has now shown himself in porto’s first team, which is a leading team.
“Our head coach’s quality requirement is very high, but he believes Fabio is a vital signing that will help the team this season.
“The timing of this agreement is the time when we bought Ruben Neves; we wait for the right time to get a high-quality disk drive at the right price.”
Everton land Allan
Everton on Saturday secured the first of an expected trio of signings in midfield with the arrival of Brazilian Allan on a three-year contract with Napoli for a payment of 22 million pounds (A$40 million).
The 29-year-old meets Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti, with whom he plays in Serie A.
Everton is also about to reunite Ancelotti with Colombian star James Rodriguez for the third time after combined periods at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, while a payment was reportedly agreed with Watford for Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Allan, who has made more than two hundred appearances in five years at Napoli, admitted that he cannot refuse the opportunity to repaint with Ancelotti.
“This is a club with a history in the Premier League, who have genuine ambition and then there is Professor Ancelotti. He did everything he could to bring me here,” Allan told Everton TV.
‘It’s the length of the club and the coach’s call, which means you don’t think twice before you get to Everton.
“I hope, as I’ve done with my career, to make a contribution to my performances with my teammates and to have done some very clever matches, wonderful performances and winning vital things.
