Wolves’ Rudy Gobert says he struggled to breathe but avoided a fracture after a fall

Minnesota Timberwolves midfielder Rudy Gobert crashed during Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers, and while he seems to have avoided the worst-case scenario, he was still feeling the effects after the game.

Gobert told reporters that there was nothing broken, but he felt like he had something in his chest after the accident and that he had trouble breathing and moving when he returned to the locker room:

Rudy Gobert said nothing was damaged and he was fine, but then he struggled to move and breathe in the locker room. He said nothing seemed out of position after the fall.

Gobert played 33 minutes and grabbed 8 points and 11 rebounds before leaving the game in the fourth quarter. The Timberwolves cruised to a 118-100 victory after overcoming a 22-point deficit in the first half to snap a two-game streak to 45. -21.

In fact, Minnesota hopes Gobert won’t be forced to run out of time, as his absence would be another blow to the team’s long-suffering front line. Star great Karl-Anthony Towns is sidelined after undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus.

The Timberwolves hope to have Gobert in the lineup when they return to action Saturday against the Utah Jazz.
