Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a position to face Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus, signed by AC Milan

Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in a position to put an end to the rumours surrounding his long career and promise at least one more season at AC Milan’s Serie A club Milan.

Reports recommend that the striker is in Italy and is in talks with fallen European giants to win the Name of Serie A and end the reign of Juventus as the country’s dominant team.

La Juve is pointing to an unprecedented tenth consecutive name in Italy this season, however, they have only beaten Inter Milan in 2020, and Zlatan said AC Milan would have won the crown if he had been there and had not suffered injuries during the season.

Ibrahimovic began his stint at Milan in January on a six-month contract and helped top off the Rossoneri season with 10 goals in 18 Serie A games. AC Milan finished the season in sixth place, having been as low as the 17th in the previous season.

Now he can put his shoes where he is while facing Cristiano Ronaldo and the Turin club in the new campaign.

“Finally, everything is in position and I can nevertheless go back to where I feel at home,” Ibrahimovic said on arrival at Milan Linate airport on Saturday night.

Ibrahimovic, 38, is expected to sign a one-season contract for 7 million euros ($8.3 million).

“Like I said, I’m not here to be a pet. I’m here to bring effects and help the team, the coach and the team get back to where Milan deserves to be,” Ibrahimovic said in a video on the Milan website.

“We had six wonderful months but we didn’t win anything,” he added. “This year I’m lucky enough to be here from the beginning, so we have to keep going as we were, running hard and sacrificing ourselves to achieve our goals.”

The Serie A season on September 19.
