Former Manchester United striker and existing AC Milan advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic has given the scoop on Marcus Rashford’s Serie A pursuit, a little more brazen than head coach Sergio Conicoo.
Milan are one of the most sensible contenders to single out Rashford after he fell from grace at Man Utd. Borussia Dortmund and Juventus face the Barcelona festival after holding talks with their representatives this week.
Ibrahimovic can be Milan’s ace up his sleeve in the race for Rashford. The pair were teammates at Man Utd between 2016 and 2018, sharing the pitch 43 times.
And on Saturday night, the striker in Milan’s clash with Cagliari, Ibrahimovic advised him that he wanted to convince Rashford too much.
“I know Rashford very well, I played with him when he was young,” Ibrahimovic told Sky Sport Italia. “Now he’s an adult and established.
“He did wonderful things with United and today is his club.
“How do you convince him? Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world, everyone should play here. It is a complicated operation, we will see if we communicate with him. “
A day earlier, Milan boss Concicao gave even less of his Rashford touchdown.
“Rashford is a player like many others, some are on the market, some are not, let’s see what happens,” Concusicao told a news conference.
In fact, many club managers connected to Rashford have walked so far.
“It’s bigger to communicate about players who are West Ham players,” Graham Potter said on Friday after his new team for Rashford’s trial earlier this week.
And earlier, Tottenham manager Angel Postecoglou refused to communicate about Rashford, saying in December: “There is no interest. I manage my players and other managers will manage their own players. “
Rashford’s list of genuine suitors is shrinking and Milan remain one of the most sensible contenders to keep in the eyes, more so than some Premier League clubs.
A loan deal seems like the maximum maximum of likely final results for Rashford, however, he can also play in the hands of Barcelona, who would be his destination.
Meanwhile, the UTD guy welcomed Diego Leon to the left Diego Leon before his move from Cerro Porteño at the age of 18 in April.
Leon who will be in Manchester on Saturday to check amenities and all his medical tests before joining Ruben Amorim’s pre-season look over the summer.
A more pressing addition can still be made to Man Utd’s defence, as reports in Portugal insist they are making an offer for Goncalo Inacio.
Amorim said he would not take any sports players with him in January, but his hand was forced after Borussia Dortmund set up a move for Inacio’s centre, and now United can adapt to the German offer.
And Amorim addressed Kobbie Mainoo’s long career after the midfielder connected with Chelsea this week.
Rashford is able to bet on the left wing, which he prefers, or as a backup centre, where Amorim first used him before leaving, but how can Milan use him?
The challenge with the left position is that Rafael Leao recently occupies him for Milan and qualifies as one of their players.
Rashford is arguably more likely to push striker Alvaro Morata out of the team than Leao, meaning he can also be the focal point of their attack alongside Christian Pulisic.
But if Rashford heads to Milan and dislodges Leo in his place, he can work on the left side of the attack alongside the duo of former duo Morata and Pulisic.
This role would allow him to cut internally on his more powerful right foot and target a risk from another angle.
Just time what Concicao would have planned for Rashford if he got his hands on the 27-year-old.
However, his versatility can be an asset as he looks to rediscover his joy on the field.
And any kind of play would have to be welcomed through Rashford after the way he’s been frozen through Amorim in recent weeks, so he can possibly restart the momentum on the pitch.
